Meet Roya.

 

Roya came to the UK with her family after fleeing their home in Afghanistan. She has nine charming children who all speak impeccable English. Roya is always smiling and keeps everyone entertained with her positive energy and perspective on life. 

 

She spends a lot of time cooking for her large family and recently mentioned that she prepares over 30 kilos of meat each month for her children and husband! Roya learned to sew as a child and, until her arrival in the UK, had only used a hand-operated sewing machine. It has been a joy to introduce her to the wonders of an electric sewing machine, which operates effortlessly when the foot is firmly pressed down!

 

Roya is also extremely skilled at embroidery, creating beautiful initials and patterns on pillowcases and napkins that she makes for her friends and family.
